RVP1987 LLC ("we," "us," or "BrainFilter") operates the BrainFilter mobile applications (the "Apps") and the website at brainfilter.app (the "Website"). This policy explains what information we collect from parents and children through the Apps and the Website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices you have. Sections 1–10 cover the Apps and children's information; Section 11 covers the Website, cookies, and advertising tools.
BrainFilter is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian and used by their children. We handle personal information in line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and, where applicable, the EU/UK GDPR provisions on children's data.

BrainFilter is a parent-controlled service. A parent creates the account, sets up each child's profile, and chooses the videos and limits. We rely on you, the parent, to provide consent on your child's behalf. We ask for a child's information only as needed to provide the service to your family, and we never require a child to disclose more than is reasonably necessary to use BrainFilter.
About voice recordings. A child's voice is personal information, so we treat it accordingly.
Where recordings go. A recording is saved on the device it was made on and also uploaded to our storage (Google Firebase), so that you can hear it on whichever device you use. If your child records on an iPad, you can play it on your phone. Transfer and storage are encrypted.
Who can access a recording. Only your family. Our storage rules permit access to your own account's folder and no other, which is enforced by the server rather than promised by us. There are two narrow exceptions, both by design: spoken video requests — where your child asks out loud to watch something — are readable by us after you approve them, because hearing the request is how we find the video your child asked for. Explanation recordings, where your child says what they learned, are never readable by us at all.
You decide, and you can change your mind. Voice explanations are off until a parent switches them on — either on the consent screen when you set up, or later in Settings. Turning them off stops any further recording. Existing recordings stay until you delete them, so a switch never destroys your child's work without you asking.
How long we keep them. Until you delete them. Recordings do not expire on their own, because parents have told us they want to keep them — so the decision to remove one is always yours.
Delete any time. Play or delete individual recordings, or all of a child's recordings at once, from the parent dashboard. Deleting removes both the copy on your device and the copy in our storage. Deleting your account removes all of them.
We do not analyse, transcribe, profile, or train anything on your child's voice, and we never sell it. Explanation recordings exist so a parent can hear their child explain what they learned. Spoken requests exist so we can find the video your child asked for.
BrainFilter does not collect photographs or video of your child. There is no way to add a picture of a child anywhere in the Apps, and the Apps do not request camera or photo library access. The microphone is requested only when a parent has switched voice explanations on, or when your child chooses to record a video request, and only at the moment they tap to record.
We do not collect photographs or video of children, precise geolocation, contacts, health data, or any information beyond what is described here. Inside the Apps, we do not use analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising software. No advertising pixel, tag, or tracker runs inside the Apps or on any screen a child uses. The Website, which is for parents, uses the cookies and marketing tools described in Section 11.
We use the information to create and secure your account; provide the service and sync your family's profiles, playlists, and activity across your devices; enforce the limits and content filters you set; play and organise the videos you choose; and maintain and improve the Apps.
Voice recordings are used only to be played back: by you, on your devices, and — for spoken video requests you have approved — by us, so we can find the video your child asked for. Nothing else.
We do not use children's personal information for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles of children, and we do not sell personal information.
We share information only with service providers that help us run BrainFilter, and only as needed:
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect safety or our rights, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell personal information and do not share children's personal information for third-party behavioural advertising.
Before a child's profile is created, the account-holding parent provides consent within the App. We treat the account holder as the child's parent or guardian. Consent to voice explanations is asked for separately, as its own choice on the same screen, so agreeing to use BrainFilter never silently agrees to your child being recorded. If we materially change what we collect, we ask every parent to review and consent again — which is why you may have seen this screen more than once. If we learn we have collected a child's personal information without the required parental consent, we will delete it.

Voice recordings are kept until you delete them. Deleting a recording, a child's profile, or your account removes the stored audio as well as the record of it.
For everything else, we keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law. When you delete a child's profile or your account, we delete the associated personal information from our active systems within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), access controls on our backend, and salted hashing of both parent and child PINs so they are never stored in readable form. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Our providers, including Google Firebase, may store and process data on servers located in the United States and other countries. If you use BrainFilter from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of information in the United States and wherever our providers operate.
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where required, notify parents in the App or by email and obtain renewed consent where the law requires it.
This section applies only to the Website at brainfilter.app, which is intended for parents and other adults. It does not apply to the Apps.
When you create an account or buy a plan on the Website we collect your name, email address, password (handled by Google Firebase Authentication), phone number, and plan level. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Stripe's handling of your payment details is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy. Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and operations.
The Website uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie choice. With your consent, it also uses the marketing and analytics tools listed below.
To measure our advertising and understand how visitors use the Website, we may use the following third-party tools on Website marketing pages, only after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. Each tool receives the pages you visit on the Website, your browser and device information, an approximate location derived from your IP address, a cookie or device identifier, events such as "viewed pricing" or "started checkout", and — if you are logged in to that provider's service — may link this activity to your account with them. We do not send these tools your name, email address, or phone number.

We may add similar tools from other advertising or analytics providers in the future; any such tool is subject to the same consent banner and the same limits described here, and we will update this table.
These tools run only on the public marketing pages of the Website. They do not run inside the Apps, on any page that displays or names the videos in your family's library, on the parent dashboard or account pages, or on any page containing information about a child. We never send a child's name, a child's activity, or the titles of videos your family watches to any advertising or analytics partner.
You can decline marketing and analytics cookies on the banner, or change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the Website footer. If you decline, none of the tools above loads. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of sale and sharing. You can also block cookies in your browser settings and use the opt-out links in the table above.
If you tick the text-message box when you sign up, we may text the phone number you provide about your account and to ask for your feedback, including after you cancel. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. We keep a record of when and how you gave consent. Your phone number is not shared with advertising partners.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the use of advertising pixels may be considered "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. In the past 12 months we have shared the following categories of personal information with the advertising partners named above for that purpose: identifiers (cookie and device identifiers) and internet or network activity (pages visited on the Website). We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To opt out, use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the Website footer, turn on GPC in your browser, or email brainfilterapp@gmail.com. We will verify requests that concern account data by confirming you control the account email. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for written permission. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing the service.
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising, and may exercise them the same way. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email; we will respond within 45 days.
The Website is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Website. Children's personal information collected through the Apps is covered by Sections 1–10 and is never used for advertising.
